Our Avalar family decided to “Adopt a Family” from the Twin Lakes Food Bank in Folsom.  It was a lot of fun and felt very good to help some people in need in our community.  We raised the money for the gifts and food for their Christmas dinner by selling raffle tickets to our agents.  We raffled off Russ and me as slaves for the day to one of our agents who won the raffle.  This was not my idea, my son, and loan manager came up with the prize.  We were able to raise a good amount of money, and were able to buy some nice things for the children.  The Family was a young couple in Folsom who have two children ages 5, little girl, and 9, little boy.  The man had just recently gotten a job and the wife was still looking for a new job.  They wanted to be able to have a nice Christmas for their children.  We were able to get them a gift card that would take care of their Christmas meal, and gifts for the children, as well as some movies for the whole family.  I and my son and wife delivered the gifts to the parents and had a nice little visit with some really good people just a little down on their luck.  I feel it is important to give back to the community and seeing the smiles on their faces as we handed them the gifts was a great feeling for us.
